Throwback Thursday!
This one is a big throwback! This was definitely early on in my scrapbooking life and quite possibly one of the first layouts that I hand stitched on. The clue that gives away my early stitching is the sharp edges of the flourishes, the clear sign that I used a stitching template. Stitching templates are great, but more seasoned stitching-Allison would have added in a few more holes between the holes on the template to give a more rounded and fluid curve.
It may be an older layout, but the journaling style I used is one I still use today. I numbered the pictures and then gave a short description of what is going on in each picture for the journaling.
This always a good go-to journaling approach when you have a lot of pictures of many different events that all took place on one day or event or in the case of my layout, one month.
The other things that stick out that I do differently now is the colored cardstock and the dark ink around the edges of the papers. I don’t think there is anything wrong with either, I’ve just found that I enjoy using neutrals for my cardstock and I almost always stick to a more neutral, light brown shade for ink the edges of my papers.
When you look at your older layouts, what about your style has changed? What has stayed the same?
