Creating w/ 6x6" Paper Pads | Triangle Pattern

Supplies used - Cardstock: American Crafts; Patterned paper: Honey Bee Stamps; Heart punches: Recollections; Alphabet stickers: Elle's Studio; Wooden title piece: Color Cast Designs; Embroidery floss: DMC; Computer font: Avenir Next

These little triangle pieces are always a fun idea for 6x6" paper pads! To create them you cut a square first and then cut that square in half diagonally.

To create the background I arranged two triangles together to form diamonds made up of two different patterned papers. To add a little interest, for some of the triangles I left an opening and added a stitched triangle instead. I love doing that when I create backgrounds like this!

I also stitched on top of some triangles using coordinating colors to the papers.

For a little extra detail I added some punched hearts throughout the design. Since I wanted to adhere the hearts on top of the same pattern I sanded the edges and used foam adhesive to ensure that they stood out.

As far as the rest of the layout, I kept things super simple. Most of the time when I create a detailed background like this, I like to balance that with minimal embellishments.
