I have always loved a good sunburst design! They just scream fun and happiness to me.
To create this layout I started with a sketch from our Sketches w/ a Sunburst: One-page set and adapted it to a single photo and lots of stitching detail. (Of course!)

Supplies used - Cardstock: American Crafts; Patterned paper, stickers, & die cuts: Echo Park; Star punches: Recollections and Fiskars; Embroidery floss: DMC; Computer font: Century Gothic
I really loved the different tone on tone patterns on several of the papers within this Echo Park collection. I immediately thought it would be cool to use a different one for each sunburst and then add some stitched details on the pattern. My mind is always searching for a different way to incorporate stitching!

There weren't enough of the tone on tone patterns to complete the sunburst design so I also added in a plaid and a striped paper. The good thing about those two papers is they do a wonderful job of tying the color story all together.

After I had the stitching complete I punched out different sizes of stars to match each color of patterned paper and adhered them with foam adhesive. I was looking to add a little more dimension to the sunburst design so this was a perfect detail! I enjoy adding small details in the same color popped up with foam adhesive so it's a subtle, dimensional detail.
