One Patterned Paper, Two Layouts: Layout #2

Earlier this week I shared a layout with a large heart centered on a layout. To create that layout I cut that large heart out of the center of this pink and red patterned paper. Today I'm going to share the layout I created using the leftover paper that the heart was cut out of.

For this layout I added a sheet of white cardstock to the backside of the heart opening in the pink and red patterned paper and I tucked my photo behind the left edge of the heart.

The very first idea I had when I saw this patterned paper was adding stitching to the red stripes and this heart cut design was perfect for that! It seemed like such a fun way to highlight the cute design of the patterned paper.

Since the line was on the paper already, I didn't worry about drawing pencil lines before I pierced the holes. I used the stripe as a guide instead. It made the process quite a bit faster without having to draw those lines!

To complete the design I add my title, journaling, and some smaller heart stickers.

This is such a simple design concept that could work with so many different patterned papers. I love the idea of have a shape frame and then stitching onto the design of the patterned paper! I bet plaid paper would be really, really cool like this!!
