Scrapbook Design Idea | Easy 4x6" Photo Layout

I love photos of all sizes, but it's hard not to admit that layouts using all 4 x 6" photos come together so fast!
Supplies used - Cardstock: American Crafts; Patterned paper: Simple Stories, Bella Blvd., My Mind's Eye, American Crafts, and PhotoPlay; Circle die cuts: Cocoa Vanilla; Circle punches: Fiskars; Star punches: Fiskars and Recollections; Foam alphabet: Simple Stories; Acrylic title: Color Cast Designs; Embroidery floss: DMC; Computer font: Century Gothic
This layout design is so simple at it's core and one that I would use often for those times when I have all 4 x 6" photos.
There is a 12 x 12" large background with four 4 x 6" photos added right next to it. This large background is 2" from the left edge so that means 2" of that paper is on the right page. This also leaves a 2" margin from the right edge of the photos to the right edge of the layout. This serves as a great base design that you can easily build around and use over and over.
On top of that large background I've added another background design - a square grouping of vertical strips. You could adapt this to so many different designs:
• larger vertical strips
• a single square background
• horizontal strips.
• squares
• hexagons
• a grid design of circles, stars, hearts, or other shapes
• a large shape - star, circle, heart, hexagon, diamond, etc.
Then on top of that background I added my focal photo. It is strategically arranged with the title and journaling to really pull attention there.
And, for fun I added some circles and stars for my embellishments. I also added a few to the photo block on the right page to tie it all together.
It's such a simple design that can be used over and over again!
