When it comes to bright colored, tone-on-tone patterned papers Doodlebug is the Queen! I always know that if I want to create a rainbow of bold colors on my layout, Doodlebug is the one to turn to!

Supplies used - Cardstock: American Crafts; Patterned paper, stickers, die cuts, and enamel pieces: Doodlebug Designs; Scallop strip cut file: I tried to find it in the Silhouette Design Store, but their website has become such a mess, I couldn't get the information; Embroidery floss: DMC; Computer font: Century Gothic
For this layout, I used my Silhouette to cut out a scallop strip in 16 different patterned papers. Then I layered them starting at the bottom edge of the layout and working my way to the top.

Then I went through and added a stitched border on each one, matching the color of thread to the color of the strip. This gave the background some texture and dimension to really show off that layered scallop design.

For my embellishments I tried to match the color of them to the color of the strips they were positioned near.

I went kind of heavy with the embellishments, adding lots of flowers, leaves, and butterflies.
