Creating w/ 6x6" Paper Pads | Ombré Triangle Frame

This layout is from a class I taught at We Create a few years ago using a 6x6" cardstock paper pad from Memory Box that had several shades of the same color family.

I have always enjoyed creating ombré-style designs and those small paper pads were so perfect for that! It made it so easy to compile the colors needed since they were all in one small pad.

But...that was the only easy thing about this layout! This style of triangle takes a little longer to cut out! Most of the time when I create with triangles I use an Isosceles triangle which can easily be cut by cutting a square in half diagonally. The triangles on this layout are an Equilateral triangle and require more work if you are cutting them without a die cutting machine.
To cut them out with a trimmer I start by cutting a strip in the width I want the triangles to be. Then I use a ruler and pencil to draw marks along the edge to map out the cut points. To cut them out you just line up the pencil marks with your blade track. I won't say they are hard to make, they just take a little more effort and time.

To arrange the design I started with the lighter colors in the top left corner and then increased the intensity of the color going across to the bottom right corners. I didn't have an exact point where I would bleed into the next color, I mixed it up a bit to make it look a little more fluid and blended.

It was a lot to arrange, but the end result is so fun!!
