Cut Files by Allison | Grass Background

I always love creating monochromatic layout designs and this particular cut file immediately called to me for that very reason!

Supplies used - Cardstock: American Crafts; Patterned papers: My Mind's Eye, Simple Stories, and Bella Blvd.; Cut file: Scrapbook Generation; Acrylic title piece and flowers: Color Cast Designs; Alphabet Stickers: Cosmo Cricket; Enamel flowers and leaf stickers: Doodlebug Designs; Embroidery floss: DMC; Computer font: Century Gothic
Most of the time I use white cardstock for cut file designs, but I loved the idea of using green for this one, for obvious reasons.

Then I added a different green patterned paper to back each section of grass. I used a variety of different shades to match the different shades of green in the grass in the photos.

To add some texture and dimension to the design I also added green stitching along the die cut design. This also really helped that grass design stand out since it's green on green. The dimension really highlights the shape of the grass details.

Since the background design is so detailed, for the rest of the layout I kept things simple with my title, journaling, and few flowers and leaves.
