One Patterned Paper, Two Layouts: Layout #1

Whenever I use my Silhouette I tend to think of future layouts whenever I am making my cuts. I like to make sure I'm left with a leftover piece that can be used on something else. I'm one of those that will save every little scrap so I can't imagine cutting with abandon and tossing the rest of the paper.

This week I've got two layouts to share that the main design for both layouts is made from one sheet of pattern paper. One layout uses the die cut, the other one uses the paper that the die cut was cut from. Today I'm sharing the first one, the second one will come later this week.

For this layout I used a large heart cut out of a patterned paper that is pink with red stripes and bows.

The heart is adhered to the center of my cardstock base (with some stitching, of course) and then I used several punched hearts and sticker hearts to spread the design from one corner to another.

I loved the large amount of white space, but I wanted to cut a tiny bit of it out. I love white space, and believe me is was a concept I had to learn to love, but sometimes I struggle when I feel like it's a little too much. My idea to reduce it a little was to add a simple red cardstock scallop border. I used a 1" circle punch and then cut the circles in half. This is a super easy way to create scallop designs!

This was such an easy layout to put together!
