Scrapbook Design Idea | Rainbow Hexagon Grid

This layout has three things I absolutely love...
A rainbow color scheme
Hexagons
A grid design

To create this grid design I started off by drawing the lines for the white stitched lines. Doing this first made it so much easier to arrange those hexagons in straight lines!
To create the rainbow, I wanted each column of hexagons to be one color family going from red and coral on the left to pink and purple on the right. For each color I punched a different patterned paper in various shades of each color. I loved the idea of each hexagon being a different pattern.

One of the things that I absolutely love about hexagons is that you can get away with lots of detail because of the structure of the core grid design. I always like adding different details on top of each piece of the grid. I used a mix of...
• stitched borders
• stitched hearts
• smaller white hexagons
• large punched hearts
• small punched hearts
• chipboard hearts
• word/phrase stickers
When it came to the remaining details on my layout I matched them the color of the column they are near. If you look at my title, I used red, orange, yellow pieces with some heart accents in red and green based on their placement.

On the top edge of the photo I added a tab sticker that also matches the color of the column it is near.
