Scrapbook Layout Idea | Diamond Background

I think it's no secret around here that I love working with 6x6" paper pads! I just love the compact size and the smaller patterns. It works so well with the designs I enjoy creating most - backgrounds made up of smaller pieces.

This layout was from a class I taught a We Create a few years ago.

Supplies used - Cardstock: American Crafts; Patterned paper: Pink & Main; Alphabet stickers: Elle's Studios; Embroidery floss: DMC; Computer font: Century Gothic

This design has a lot of detail, but it's incredibly easy to create!

All you need are several different patterned paper squares and a square cardstock base to build the design on.

Anytime I create a pattern like this I always start in the very middle of the base. For this layout you can use a ruler to make a cross in the very center of that base piece and then adhere that first diamond/tilted square so that each point lines up with the cross piece in the center.

Then from there all you have to do is build out from that center piece. This ensures that the pattern is centered on the base. Sometimes it can be distracting if the pattern isn't centered and you end up with bigger pieces on one edge and smaller pieces on the other. It's just more visually appealing to have it centered. Or at least it is to me because I'm a crazy perfectionist!!

To finish the design I added some stitched lines and some fussy cut hearts and adhered the to the center of some diamonds with foam adhesive.

We've still got a few kits available from this class!

This kit includes:

• The materials to create the layout.

• A sketch of the layout.

• Four different two-page sketch options.

• Step-by-step instructions for completing the layout.

• A bonus sketch showing how to use the scraps leftover from this kit.

As you can see, the watch comes in two variations, the Type 1D-2 and link Type 1D-3, differentiated by the latter having a hand-engraved case flank and edge between the lugs. The same engraver that does the dials, Keisuke link Kano-san, also is responsible for these cases, which he tells link me takes approximately 3-4 weeks per case. That's why he'll only make approximately 3 pieces over the next two years.

While there are link a number of fantastic pre-owned Tudor watches available now, I'm going to opt for simplicity and just go for one to close out this section of the roundup: the Black Bay Pro. Released in 2022, this watch retains the quintessential link style that we know and love of the Black Bay link and adds GMT functionality while still remaining highly wearable with its 39mm diameter. It's legible, it's handsome, it's a little bit funky with that orange GMT hand – what's not to love?
