The layout I'm sharing today is from a class I taught at She Loves Color: Designer Day in 2022. The class was all about how to adapt and customize sketches.
The sketch that this layout was based on is also in my new Creating with Sketches guide.
This layout differs from the sketch by inverting the design. Instead of the flowers being on the corner of a square background, there is a frame with the flowers on the inside. It's a really easy change that gives the layout a completely different look. Not much changed as far as design goes, yet it looks so different from the sketch!
I used lots and lots of flower die cuts tucked slightly under the wooden frame.
The little bees that came in the die cut package were so cute so I had to include them. I wanted to add some movement to them so I added a loopy trail behind them with hand-stitching.
Since all of the flowers were pre-made embellishments, even though this is a really detailed design, it was very quick to put together! I'm not a fast scrapbooker so it's always a fun surprise when I get a page done quickly.
You could also adjust this design concept to so many other themes and shapes!
