Today is the big day that Scrapbook Generation's first paper collection, Color Splash, is available for preorder at scrapbookgeneration.com!
I'm also sharing a layout I made using this collection. For this layout I used my absolute favorite paper in the whole collection.
The main background of my layout is the paper with the splash of paint in a rainbow of colors going across it. You can find the paper I'm talking about here. It is the same splash you see here:
It's such a fun, bright, and bold design and I knew that I wanted to use that as big part of my layout design. Really I didn't have to design much of anything. It was simply a matter of embellishing the design that was already there by adding more detail along with some texture and dimension.
I cut out several of the stars from the star cutout sheet used a punch for a few stars as well. The quad 6x6" papers were perfect for the punched stars because the patterns are shrunken down to a smaller size and you can see that full pattern even though the stars are quite small.
I also added in some black details - the title, a mat around the whole layout, and several smaller stars. I LOVE the look of bright colors paired with black! To me that is the best pairing when it comes to bright colors. It really makes those colors stand out while not making it overwhelmingly bright.
