Scrapbook Design Idea: Dressing up Patterned Paper

The layout I'm sharing today it a rare occurrence for me. It's made using only patterned paper. There are zero stickers or embellishments that didn't come from a patterned paper.

Even the title, word pieces, and little crabs were fussy cut from patterned paper.

I wanted more detail on this layout than the paper allowed so I turned to a few things to add some extra detail, texture, and dimension and give some life to the flat papers.

First, I loved the rainbow striped paper and I wanted it to have a special detail added to it. I added simple hand-stitched lines on each larger stripe in the same coordinating color. This is a fun way to dress up a background and add a beautiful detail to a striped paper. You could do this with so many patterned papers other than a stripe too!

Second, I used some Nuvo Jewel Drops and created droplets to add an extra, dimensional detail to the fussy cut lemons. I also added a few a droplets on the edges of the cluster design.
It was a fun challenge to create this layout without pre-made embellishments!
