Scrapbook Design Idea | Star Shaped Cluster Frame

I always love a fun cluster design! And, this one was a especially fun to create since it was stars on stars framing a larger star. (Just an FYI - I love creating with stars!)

I started off by cutting a large star out of white cardstock. Then I added the chain link stitched border around the edge in a dark blue.

I used my Silhouette to cut out lots of stars in a variety of patterned papers and in a variety of sizes well. To add those stars to the edge of the stitched star, I cut a straight edge on one side and then adhered it flat, with that straight edge right up against the stitching.

For the stars that are in the corners, I needed two straight edges and I wanted to make sure the star fit perfectly, so I used the corner of the star cut out to trace the lines on the patterned paper star. Then I cut with scissors and adhered. The beauty is that stitching is so thick and tall that it helps to hide any imperfect cuts!

This design is one of those that is adaptable to so many different shapes! You could try...

• hearts

• circles

• triangles

• squares

• diamonds

• hexagons

To complete the design I added some stitching on the patterned paper stars and lots of smaller punched stars that are adhered around the design with foam adhesive.

This is such a fun concept to play with!
