Scrapbook Design Idea | Vertical Strips Background

The super cute Berry Sweet collection from Doodlebug instantly had my attention! In that classic Doodlebug fashion it has cute icons and details with bright, fun colors.

To create this layout I used the 6 x 8" paper pad to create a large background made up of strips that follow a rainbow color scheme from red to blue.

I used a variety of detail to create the strips. The 6 x 8" paper pad has a sheet with different decorative strips that had icons like hearts, strawberries, and text going across them. One of the cardstock sticker sheets had scallop stickers that I cut down to match the 6" length of the other strips. Then to complete the design I used some of the patterned papers in the paper pad and cut them in varying widths.

To create the design I started with red at the top and worked my way through pink, yellow, green, and blue using a variety of different patterns in those colors. Some of the strips are overlapped and some have spacing between them. I also added stitched lines that matched the colors.

To complete the strips design I punched hearts in the same colors, added a stitched border, and adhered them with foam adhesive to the coordinating strips.

This ended up being such a fun, colorful design to go with my super happy photo of Jackson!
