Firework Photos

Since so many of us have fresh firework pictures to scrapbook, I thought I would share one of my favorite ways to use those firework photos on my layouts.

I've done this several times, but I'll share the most recent one I've made about one of our Disney trips. It's actually from my book: Writing to Remember and focuses on using bullet/list style journaling to document a lot of activities from one day.

Firework pictures can be so stunning and beautiful, so I try to highlight them by using one as a large background piece.

I like to print a firework photo as an 8 x 10" (you could even do larger) and then arrange smaller detail photos on top of it.

If I have room I'll even add the title, sometimes the journaling, and several other small embellishments.

Usually, at least in my experience with firework photos, you can get away with adding elements here and there on top of them without losing the beauty of the photo. While snapping the photos I try keeping in mind how I might want to use them later on a scrapbook page. I might leave a little empty space at the bottom, sides, or top knowing that I can use that space to put smaller photos or embellishments.

Hope you all had a great 4th!
