Scrapbook Design Idea | Half Shapes Pieced Together

If I could say I was in a specific era right now, it would be playing with half shapes. I am obsessed with them!

Supplies used - Cardstock: American Crafts; Patterned paper: Bella Blvd.; Words for title: Doodlebug Designs, Pretty Little Studio; Glitter paper: DCWV; Star stickers and die cuts: American Crafts; Star punches: Fiskars; Embroidery floss: DMC; Computer font: Century Gothic
To create this layout I used my Silhouette to cut out a bunch of stars in a variety of patterned papers and colors. Then I cut each star in half.

To create the grid design I pieced to different patterned paper star pieces together to create one star. A little trick - use a small piece of tape (I used masking tape) to hold the start together before you adhere it to your layout. It just makes it easier to line them up when it's all one piece.

I adhered all of the stars into a grid design covering the whole layout. And of course I had to add some hand-stitching on each and every one!
Just think of how many shapes this could work with!
• hearts
• squares
• circles
• scallop circles
• triangles
• hexagons
...just to name a few!

It's such an easy concept with a big impact! I highly recommend trying it sometime. There are so many fun possibilities!
