Scrapbook Design Idea | Rolled Paper Strips

This layout is from a class I taught at We Create that features rolled paper strips to mimic the look of party noise makers.

I had shared a previous layout with this technique here and everyone loved it so I thought it would make a great class. And it worked out that I had pictures of Drew with a noise maker as well!

This technique is so simple too! First you adhere your strips. Then you take a small strip that is the same width of your strips on the layout and roll it up and adhere it to the end of the matching strip.

You can just cut a longer strip and roll up the end, but since we are always working with double sided paper, you won't have the same pattern showing on the rolled end. That's why I used separate piece and adhered it to the end.

To finish the look I added lots of stitched swirls and some small confetti pieces that I punched with a Fiskars hand punch.

If you see a car go by in Geneva with a sports bumper sticker (a rarity in its own right), chances are it's a hockey sticker… a Servettes sticker. Over link the years the team has seen some success but none as much as what it's achieved in 2022 and 2023. That's because, in '22, the Servettes link made it to the National Championship link game. While they didn't win that year, they were able – against the odds – to make it back last year and win the whole thing.
