Wreath designs will always be one of my favorite designs. It's easy to customize and the end result is always so eye-catching.
For this particular wreath design, I started with a circle design patterned paper from the Colorful 1 collection design by Scrapbook Generation's owner Debbie Sanders. You can see the whole collection here. That paper ended up being the perfect base for a wreath design!
A few weeks ago on my Facebook page a discussion started about the lack of boy collections out there in the scrapbooking world. This collection, Colorful 1, is a great collection for boy pages!
There are several cut out sheets for this collection including one full of different sizes and shapes of stars. I cut out tons of them! Thankfully stars are easy to fussy cut so it didn't take near as long to do as you might think.
I wanted to have lots of texture and dimension within this design so I added hand-stitching on a lot of the stars. It was a beautiful evening so I sat out on our backyard deck with my husband and stitched while we talked about our day. It was quite nice!
To arrange the stars, it was super easy because of the circle patterned paper base. I started with the larger stars first and then worked my way down to the smaller ones, filling in the gaps.
To add some interest and finishing touches to the wreath I used some word/phrase stickers, some punched glitter stars, and the new Pink Fresh Studio glitter drops. I am in love with the glitter drops! They have a similar look and feel to enamel dots and they are so pretty! You can see them here.
Inside the wreath design I added my photo, journaling, and title. The title is from one of my new favorite companies: Color Cast Designs. I am obsessed with everything they offer! You can check them out here: Color Cast Designs
The nice thing about wreath designs is that you can easily customize them to different shapes and themes. You can change the typical circle base to a square, heart, star, or hexagon and any theme or shape can work for the details. It's such a fun design and I highly recommend that you give it a try if you haven't already!
