The layout I'm sharing today is a past We Create class that I taught. I actually just starting working on my We Create classes for this year just this week!

Supplies used - Cardstock: American Crafts; Patterned paper and stickers: Simple Stories; Embroidery floss: DMC; Computer font: Century Gothic
For this layout we took a large heart, torn a piece out of the middle, added a few contrasting torn strips underneath, and then added some long line stitching along the gap between the two sections of the heart. I just love the texture between the embroidery floss and the torn edges!

The patterned paper used for the main heart has a bunch of small hearts with an offset heart outline on top. My stitching brain was just dying to stitch that offset border...so that's exactly what I did!

I have always enjoyed stitching the design on patterned papers. I love the texture it adds to the paper! It's always a great way to dip your toes into hand-stitching without the overwhelming task (for beginners, anyway) of drawing your own designs. You just pierce your holes along the design and then stitch through them.

For the rest of the design on this layout I framed my photo with a title cluster, my journaling, some flowers, butterflies, and hearts made with Nuvo Drops.

AHA! I wondered if you hand-poked those holes! What a chore! But we do what we WANT to create, don't we? Do you use a little-bit-larger needle or maybe your embroidery needle to poke through to...say...something like a mouse pad? It sure makes your texture unique! Love it!
